7 Steps To Choose The Right Niche For Your Blog

There is no surefire way to pick a profitable niche. Even professional bloggers admit that they sometimes choose a niche that doesn't get enough traffic or make enough money to make it worthwhile. So don't worry if the first blog you start flops. Just try again. Perseverance is the key to success.

Here are 7 simple steps to choosing a niche that is right for you:

1. Make A List Of Your Passions

Write down all the things you are passionate about. If you aren't passionate about the topic you write about, it will show! Passion is one of the biggest keys to keeping people interested in your blog (yourself included). This is the most important step in choosing a niche. If you don't follow any of the other steps in this post, make sure you write about something you are passionate about.

Here is an example of what your list of passions might look like:

1. Basketball

2. Playing Video Games

3. Officiating Tennis Matches

4. Internet Marketing

5. American Idol

6. Reality TV

7. Being a Good Parent

8. Model Rocketry

9. UFOs

10. Bird watching

11. Carpentry

12. Ridding the world of Ants

13. ...

2. Make A List Of Things You Do Well

Write down all the things you do well. It is advisable to ask other people for input on this. Find out what other people think you are good at. They might mention things you haven't thought of. You might also show the final list to your friends and family to get further input on the list.

An example list of things you do well might look like this:

1. Basketball

2. Officiating Tennis Matches

3. Cooking

4. Teaching

5. Running Marathons

6. Open Heart Surgery

7. Being a Good Parent

8. Model Rocketry

9. Calculus

10. Bird watching

11. Sailing

12. ...

3. Merge The First Two Lists

Take the lists you made in steps 1 and 2. Write down all the things that are in both list 1 and list 2. This will give you a good idea of things you can blog about as an expert. However, you don't have to be an expert to blog about something. If you are really passionate about something, but aren't good at it or are just learning about it, you can still blog about that topic from the perspective of someone trying to improve in that area.

For Example, if we merge the example lists from step 1 and step 2 the list would look like this:

1. Basketball

2. Officiating Tennis Matches

3. Being a Good Parent

4. Model Rocketry

5. Bird watching

...

4. Choose Your Favorite 3-5 Niches

Out of the list you compiled from step 3 (above), which ones are you MOST interested in blogging about? It doesn't matter if other people write about it. It doesn't matter if it's extremley competitive. Just write down the top 3-5 things that YOU want to blog about. It's okay if you are down to 1 niche at this point, but 3-5 would be better.

NOTE: At this point you have at least one niche you could start writing about. However, if you want to make money from your blog, you need to do more research.

From our example, let's say that you would want to blog about the following three things from your merged list:

1. Basketball

2. Being a Good Parent

3. Bird watching

5. Determine The Traffic Potential

There are a lot of ways to do keyword research and determine the traffic potential for a niche. To simplify things, you aren't going to worry about competition, you are only going to concern yourself with demand.

Go the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool (which seems to be working again). Type in the primary keyword(s) for the niches you selected in step 4. Then you will come up with a list of keyword phrases and their search numbers for last month on Yahoo owned Search Engines.

Note: If Overture doesn't work, try the free wordtracker keyword tool.

In my opinion, you really want to see more than 10,000 searches a month on Overture for the main keyword, otherwise it's going to be really hard to get decent traffic to your blog.

Let's go back to the example and turn your list into a primary keyword list, with a list of the Search Engine traffic. It would now look like this:

1. Basketball - 37845

2. Parenting - 33457

3. Bird watching - 5500

At this point, you might think that bird watching was out of the picture, but what if you wanted to write about birds, in general? What if you wanted to write about your favorite bird, the hummingbird (which had 17354 searches last month)? It is still possible to get a lot of traffic to a bird watching blog, but for the purpose of this post I am just covering a quick and easy method to analyze the potential traffic. You can expand your traffic analysis by looking at other related keywords if you like.

6. Determine The Blog's Money Making Potential

Common sense might suggest to you that there are products to be sold to people looking for each of the things in our example, but is there a way to be sure?

Here is a quick and easy method you can use to help determine a blog's money making potential. Go to Google or Yahoo and do a search for your primary keywords. The more advertisers you see paying for sponsored results (Pay Per Click ads) the better. If you don't see anyone bidding on those keywords then it may be more difficult to monetize your blog but not necessarily impossible.

The sponsored results are the ads that show on Google and Yahoo at the very top and the right hand side of the Search Engine results, under the title "Sponsored Links" on Google and "Sponsor Results" on Yahoo.

So, for our example, I went to Yahoo and did searches for each keyword and wrote down the number of ads I saw:

1. Basketball - 10

2. Parenting - 10

3. Bird watching - 10

From our quick test, it looks like all three niches are capable of being monetized. Sometimes you will type in a word, and there won't be any sponsored results. For instance, go over to Yahoo or Google and type in "underwater basket weaving". When I tried it, there were no paid ads on either Search Engine. That is probably a good sign that there isn't much money to be made in the underwater basket weaving market.

7. Make Sure You Have Time For The Niche

Is the topic so broad that you just don't have time to blog about it yourself? For instance, if you choose basketball as your niche, do you really have enough time to cover ALL basketball news on your blog? If not, then you either need to:

A. Start a group blog with enough other people to cover the topic.

B. Narrow the focus of your blog. In our example, maybe basketball is too broad for you to cover. If so, you might choose to cover your favorite basketball team or write about funny basketball moments, etc.

There you have it, 7 steps to choosing a niche for your blog.

How You Can Make Blogging And Article Marketing A Winning Team? by Juhani Tontti

Blogging is one form of the commercial activities, it is not a private diary. The idea of the blogging is to communicate to the big amount of the targeted people. And to reach business targets.

So a business blogging has actually no difference compared with the website and the blog needs also the same promotional actions to become successful.

The business tool aspect sets a requirement, that your blog must have contacts, or links, with other related blogs or websites in the Internet. That is a must.

If you compare the links with the business relationships, you understand easily their importance. They simply bring business to the blog.

The article marketing builds a lot of related contacts, which presells the idea of the blog. So when a visitor enters the blog, he is enthusiastic and waiting for your story.

On the top of this, the article marketing builds credibility or brand image, which has a strong impact on your internet home business during the long term.

The great thing about blogging is that when you ping your blog after written a new post, tens of directories get the information about it and thanks to RSS feed thousands of other bloggers will be informed. Think about the quickness!

While blogging, use optimized text, i.e. write with the related keywords. This makes it possible to rank high in the search engines. Your article marketing must use the same main keyword in the Author Box.

This is the anchor text between your blogging and the article and a sign to the search engines, that these links will raise your blog high in the search engine ranking, when the article distribution has distributed them into thousands of article directories and websites.

The idea of the article marketing is to write unique, useful articles, which will help the reader to learn more about your niche or to get enthusiastic to buy something from your blog. So you want to influence on the behaviour of the reader and get traffic building backlinks.

The article marketing as a blog traffic builder is fantastic because it will bring both short and long term targeted traffic, build backlinks and the brand. The winning duo, blogging and article marketing can be used with Blogger and WordPress.

One thing is important in blogging. The blogvisitors love the fresh and useful content. The usefulness is the greatest reason why they come cack and bookmark your blog. So I recommend a daily blogging or at least three times per week. And, please use always a unique content! Otherwise the search engines will penalize you.

SAY NO TO SLOPPY SERVICE AND GOODS IN KENYA

I came across this blog and thought it a nice initiative.

My dear readers, after much thought and contemplation after getting sloppy service and mediocre goods from assorted sellers, some of whom claim to be the best of the pack, i realised that we need to come out and literally turn the tide against this charlatans. Otherwise how does one explain a lack of a consumer agency to fight arbitrary price rises, sloppy or non existant customer service?

In this category dear readers are shops, dukas, grocers, supermarkets, government agencies, politicians and anyone and everybody who is tasked by virtue of being in business, to serve the public but deals with them , us, like we are scum yet we pay fro the services and goods they are dealing with.

This is the place to rise against them, slowly but surely. For i have a dream that we are going to ensure that we only get the best from them otherwise they close shop.

And this is how you are going to do it easily:

1. Create a comment to this post. 2. Let the subject/topic/title be the company/individual but the company name is much better in this case. 3. Post the complaint - (get your facts right about the person/company/product/attendant and any other relevant info.) 4. Be as brief, detailed and to the point as possible. 5. If you have the contacts of the culprit, post them as well as how they can get in touch with you so that we can try to get in touch with them and get their attention to your complaint. 6. If you have evidence, photos, documents, just send them over to our mail address: complaintome at gmail dot com 7. The rest, you leave to us.

With time, its my dream that we can grow to a formidable website that will fight for the consumer interest and ensure that we get the best.

In any case, i believe that we sincerely deserve it for we aren't on a witch-hunt mission.

Why Trackbacks are Useful For Blogs

If not, that's alright, as most people don't quite understand how trackbacks work and why they are useful for a blog. In this newsletter, we're going to go over trackbacks--what they are, how they work, why they are important to blog traffic, and how to get more trackbacks. After you've read this, you'll know practically everything there is to know about trackbacks.

What are trackbacks? The concept of trackbacks is a bit hard to explain. So we'll use an example to explain it in the best way possible.

OK, say you see a great blog post on another person's blog and want to link to it on your blog. You could do this the old-fashioned way by manually putting a link on your site to that blog. However, if you do it this way, the person whose blog post you are linking to won't know that you are linking to them unless you tell them.

This is where trackbacks come in. A trackback is a program which will notify the owner of a blog when one of their posts has been linked to at another blog.

How do they work? A blog that has a trackback system set up will have a link at the bottom of every blog post. This link will say something like "Blog This!" Anyone who clicks the link can then put a link to that blog post on their site. The person who posted the original blog will then be notified via email that their blog posting has been linked to. Additionally, the link that was clicked("Blog This!") will change to "Trackbacks". From that point forward, the "Trackbacks" link will keep track of how many people have chosen to blog about that particular post. So after the first trackback, it will say "Trackbacks: 1". The number of trackbacks recorded will be updated as they occur.

Why are trackbacks important to blog traffic? The easy answer is that trackbacks are important because they increase awareness of your blog. Trackbacks also make a blog seem more credible. After all, people have to think your posts are good enough to be trackbacked.

Anytime a person makes a trackback on your blog, they make a post on their own blog about your blog. This, in turn, lets their readers know about your blog. Chances are, their readers will want to visit your blog to see what the big deal is. If they see something on your blog that they like, they'll keep coming back for more, which means you'll have a whole new fanbase of readers. That means more traffic for your blog.

Can you imagine what would happen if 5 different bloggers trackbacked a post on your blog? Depending on how popular their blog is, that's potentially as much as hundreds of new readers for your blog! Pretty incredible, right?

Also, every trackback made, assuming it is a legitimate one (and some trackbacks are spam, especially if they are there only to link to another site) adds credibility to your blog. Blogs with high amounts of trackbacks look credible because lots of people like the posts enough to trackback them.

How can I increase the number of trackbacks I get? The easiest and best way to increase trackbacks is to frequently post. If you post frequently (2-3 times a week), people will have quite a few posts that they can trackback. However, it is important to make sure that your posts are of a good quality. Quality blog posts are those that people can relate to and are easy to read. If you post a long boring rant, people probably won't want to trackback that. But if you post a decent sized rant that is entertaining (and that people are likely to agree with), you'll get trackbacked.

The number of trackbacks you get is totally dependent on the number of visitors your blog receives and how frequently you are able to make quality posts. If you've got a good amount of visitors and write good blog posts, you'll get trackbacks.

Trackbacks are a wonderful thing for every blog. You are able to know when your blog posting has been posted about at another blog, plus you potentially gain more visitors. It's a win-win situation for you!

Make Money with your Blog

Do you want to earn a little income part-time every month? Or do you want to make a living on the internet? You can do this by blogging and making money from it, but of course there is a learning curve to make money from a blog.

There are many ways that you can make money from blogs. All these methods generally fall under 3 categories. The 3 categories are affiliate programs, advertising and sponsored posts.

1. Affiliate Programs

Being an affiliate for a merchant is a great way to make a lot of money. Basically, you sign up for the affiliate program of the merchant you want to promote for, get an affiliate link and paste these links onto your blog. Then, you will try to pre-sell your visitors and make them want to buy the product, through your affiliate link. You can find many merchants on sites like Commission Junction, Clickbank and any other affiliate program sites. You may prefer to sell a product that suits your interests, but make sure that the merchant has a good sales page, otherwise no one will buy the product even if they have clicked through your link. It is also advisable that you sell products that visitors to your blog will be more likely to buy, for example promoting an unlimited game download site if your blog is about gaming.

2. Advertising

You can make a good amount of money with blogs by placing advertisements on your blogs. As long as someone clicks on the advertisements, you will earn a small commission, no matter what the visitor does after that. The greatest example of all is Google Adsense. It is so easy to implement, that you just need to paste a code onto your blog HTML, and Google will automatically choose advertisements based on your blog's content.

It is not as simple to make money from advertising though. You will need to be strategic on where you place your code, and make sure that visitors see it often. You can try placing the advertisements nearer the top of your webpage, or try placing images close to the advertisements. Images have been proven to increase advertisements click through rate by more than 200%. However, you have to make sure that the images appear separate from your advertisements.

3. Sponsored Posts

You can do this by writing paid posts for companies, then get paid depending on how much traffic there is on your blog. You can write a simple post that talks about their company, or you can be review the company's products on your blog.

These are 3 biggest and common ways to make money from blogging. Remember that an important part to making money from blogs is that you need to generate traffic for your blog, otherwise whatever you post on your blog will be irrelevant. Good luck with your blog ideas.

How To Start Videoblogging

How To Start Videoblogging

Videoblogging is the next generation of blogging for posting ideas and products over the internet. Everybody knows about textblogging. Now they use videos for a better way of expression. This form of communication may entail a lot of resources, but it is all worth it. If pictures say a thousand words, videoblogging exceeds that by far.

A videoblog requires larger disk spaces on websites, a faster server, and a whole new set of programs to support it. Videoblogs can be fed through RSS. This is technology of syndicating your website to other RSS aggregators.

Videoblogging works with people on the internet expressing their selves. Now if you put this on a business prospective, you are up to a lot of benefits. Think of it as a powerful tool in making showing your prospective customers your line of products or your services. It is just like showing a commercial all for free. And if you videoblog through RSS, then most probably you are getting your target market.

People like to see what they are going to buy. Some would like to see proof and be sure that they are getting their money's worth before shelving their dimes on it. All of us know the influence of a thirty second commercial. The effect of videoblogging is similar to that. You show your product, people watch it. If they like it, they buy it. If you present it good enough, they'll buy the product even if they don't need it.

Now on the web, things are pretty much static, unlike in television in which all are moving. If you post something that is mobile, it would most likely catch attention. Now imaging your product parading in all it's royalty through videoblog. You will get phone call orders in no time.

If your business is just starting up, you can create a videoblog right at your own home. All you need is your web camera, microphone, video software, and lights. For as long as you know how to use your camera, then you can create a videoblog.

Invest in a good web camera. The higher its resolution is the better the output. And you like to present your goods in the optimum way so get the best one possible. Make a short story, or just capture your goods in one go. Just make sure you are getting the best profile for each. Get those creativity juices flowing.

Lights are important in a production. Make sure you illuminate entirely the area you are going to use to create videoblog. The brighter the area, the crispier the images will be. You can also use lighting effects for added appeal to the presentation.

Should you require sounds for your videoblog, you need a microphone. Record you voice as a voice over for promoting the product and its benefit to consumers. Sounds are as important as videos on a videoblog. It is advisable to make your sound effects as enticing as the video.

Your video editing software can be any program. You need this to finalize your work. You can add sounds, delete some bad angles, or insert some still pictures in there too. Some programs are user-friendly and can be used even with zero knowledge on video editing. Even simple video editing programs should do the trick. Select your background carefully too. The light affects the presentation so make sure that the background and the light complements each other.

Videoblogging is a great tool but it also has it downside. It may slow down the computer so other may steer clear of it. Download time may also be time consuming especially if customer is still on a dial- up connection.

But do not let those stop you. Let videoblogging be an alternative for you, though it is best to still keep the text and pictures present in your presentation to accommodate all possible viewers of your site.

Nowadays, the more creative you are in presenting your product to the market, they more you are likely to succeed. Videoblogging offers an interactive way of selling. You involve the customers. You instill in them the advantage of your goods. And at times, those are enough to make a sale.

Blogs... Are they essential to my internet marketing campaign? - An Investigation into the effectiveness of blogs in internet marketing

Are you an aspiring internet marketer? Do you wonder about blogs and its effectiveness in helping you make money online? Let me reveal to you why blog writing should be a part of any internet marketer's arsenal in earning cash online.

A blog or weblog was simply an online diary that originated with people using it for a creative practice while also allowing others to leave comments on your topics at the same time. But did you know blogs are also very popular, useful and very often free online business marketing tools?

Here are some advantages of using blogs:

1) Search Engine Friendly - Search Engines prefer blog content more so than a lot of other types of websites. The reason for this is because blogs were originally created to be easy for search engine bots to move around in. What this means is that your blogs would generally rank higher than your regular webpages.
2) Low startup cost - If you are interested in internet marketing but want to start without using any cash, there are many free bloging sites out there to captialize on. Writing a blog is a good way of putting up your information, links, products on the internet without spending money. Take note to read terms and conditions of your blogging site however as there may be restrictions to what you can do with your blog.
3) Social Bookmarking - A blog can attract traffic via the thousands of social bookmarking tools around per blog post made, instead of per page like a normal website. This is obviously very powerful with potential of attracting thousands of unique visitors per day if your content is good.
4) Offering RSS Feed - RSS is a method of distributing links to content in your web site that you would like others to use; it's a mechanism to "syndicate" your content. An RSS feed for blogs is very easy to set up since many blogging tools already generate RSS files anyway. By using RSS it will increase your exposure to other internet areas or even the mobile phone networks.
With the above mentioned advantages of a blog over a normal website, what are you waiting for? A blog that is well written and set up is capable of attracting good constant traffic per day and generate constant streams of money for you day after day.

Blog Software For All Your Blogging In a Nutshell

Blog Software For All Your Blogging In a Nutshell

Everyone with writing abilities or is dreaming to be a writer has written a blog or two on the Internet. There is blog software that is simple and easy to use, and the technically inclined or challenged individuals can easily acquire a blog online.

For a lot of individuals, blogs are their projects of every day living, as they talk about their daily episodes as well as make tribute to friends and family. Furthermore, blogs assume a profound meaning written to compose and assemble political statements, endorse a product, supply information on research, and even offer tutorials. Any subject that are of your interests, you can be sure that someone has written a blog about it.

Blogs are now being written by musicians, politicians, sports figures, novelists, newscasters as well as other known figures. It is this blog fever that has raised controversy. The fact that anyone can compose and regarding any subject matter under the sun, complaints about certain write-ups are an issue. In a lot of blogs, names are being mentioned; do bear in mind that although you are entitled to write anything that interests you in a blog, you have to be very careful and take in a lot of responsibility. Do not make any statements which can become controversial; or else, be very prepared.

Why a Blog?

a) For personal acquaintances, relationships and hobby. A person can write a blog about his daily activities, what's going on with his life as his way of telling his family and friends the things that goes on in his life. Likewise, one may also write a blog just so he can express what he feels about himself, or about a certain subject matter that is of interest to him.

b) Topical. Some blogs are committed to a precise topic, like computer hardware or politics. These are frequently read like magazines.

c) For marketing. Corporations are too, into blogging; when well written and implemented, this kind of blog can be a powerful instrument for business communications, forming eagerness and anticipation regarding their products and services offered, or used as tool within the company, keeping employees well informed about company issues and news.

Why someone else's software?

A lot of Web designer and creators will laugh at the belief and idea of utilizing the software of someone else. This is can be correct especially when each software greatly differs from the particular requirements that a client may have. Yet on the other hand, when it refers to a Weblog software, there is no reason for apprehension in the use of a package that is pre-written, as most packages were developed through years of study; not just knocked together over a couple of days.

In addition, one may study its feature set. For a developer, it would take a lot of time and effort to write and compose from "nothing at all" every single feature in the Weblog software packages of today. For most people, a blog is there for the main reason that chooses to publish or make known your literature and texts on the Web, so you want to spend your time more on writing than coding.

Hosted Services

If one wishes to start broadcasting on the Web, yet does not have web hosting, one can consider looking into a hosted service, which includes Blogger, TypePad, Live Journal, and more.

These services are operated or handled for an individual, so there is no need to concern one about technical upkeep of one's Weblog; instead, one can concentrate on his blog's appearance and content. In just minutes, after signing for an account, one can readily start his own blog. Many such services are offered free, such as blogger. TypePad charges a minimal amount for monthly service fee.

Self-Hosted

When one has Web hosting on hand, or is eager to buy hosting, in which one feesl that the advantage will prevail over the problems of keeping up your own blog connection and installation, then you may want to take into account a package that is self-hosted, which includes Movable Type, Textpattern and WordPress.

Other hosting companies did construct the process of installation easier, permitting installation with just a click from a control panel that is browser-based. It is important that you check with a hosting company so you can view if this function is offered. Similar to hosted services, some self hosted packages are made available either for free or for a certain fee which is dependent on the type of package that you choose as well as the basis why you are using it.

Promotional Conference Bags As Gifts

Promotional conference bags are great for any employee that travels often. However, instead of simply purchasing a few bags that can be used by everyone in the office, why not consider promotional conference bags as gifts for your employees? Gifts are appropriate on a number of occasions, and if you purchase a promotional item, you can be sure that your gifts are also advertising your products or service.

When is a gift appropriate? It really depends on your company policies. In many cases, one of the best times to give gifts is around the holidays. You can choose promotional conference bags for your employees who travel and other promotional items for those who do not. The key here is to be fair to all employees. If you have friendships with come of your employees, you can consider purchasing separate gifts with your own money to show that you care, but in the business world, make sure that everyone is valued equally. Also, it is important to remember that not everyone celebrates Christmas. Sign your card with "happy holidays" instead of Christmas wishes to avoid offending anyone's religion.

You can also give promotional conference bags as gifts when a new employee is hired in your office. This is a great idea for any employee who will be traveling, but can also work for other employees if the bag is high-quality and can be used for travel to and from work, in place of a briefcase or purse. Think about giving a number of other promotional gifts as well, such as an umbrella, a desk clock, and office supplies. Also remember to give your newest employees promotional products that they can hand out while traveling, as well as to friends and family members.

No matter when you give a promotional conference bag as a gift, you do have to consider how you will give it. Wrapping a bag can be difficult. Instead, there are a few other options. First, you can consider simply adding a bow to the bag. Another great idea is to use the bag itself as gift-wrap. You can put all of the other items you're giving as gifts inside the promotional conference bag and simply top everything with a bow. In some cases, however, gift-wrap is not necessary. This is the case if you're giving gifts to a large number of employees, for example. Use your common sense to make the promotional conference bag gift look as professional as possible.

After you've given the gift, remember to encourage your employees to actually use them! Promotional conference bags only really work if your employees carry them when they travel. Talk to your employees about the benefits of using their gifts when they travel to conferences and other events. If possible, before your order, ask others for opinions regarding the style, material, and so forth of the promotional conference bag. This will ensure that the product you buy will be something that your employees actually want to carry. And don't forget--order one for yourself to carry as well!

If you require additional information on conference bags or business promotional items, promotional gifts and promotional products then check out the leading expert suppliers online where you can make massive savings.

Designing a Blogging WebSite and The Internet

Designing a Blogging WebSite and The Internet

Because there are so many blogs and websites about blogs on the internet, it can be tough to distinguish your blogging website from all the others. Whether you are starting up a new website aimed at bloggers or whether you are looking to make your existing blogging website more distinctive, the key to building and maintaining a website that will capture the interest and attention of the blogging community is finding your niche.

If you can fill a unique need in a way that no other website does, you will be able to build a lasting readership among web surfers. Once you have discovered a niche, you will still have a lot to do, but finding your place in the blogosphere is the place to begin.

Every great blogging website begins with a great idea, and you cannot build a successful website that will last without one. There are many great websites aimed at today's bloggers, and competition for the attention of this growing demographic is fierce.

To make your blogging website stand out from the pack, you will need to offer something that no other website is currently offering, or you will need to do the same thing that an already popular website does but in a more impressive or valuable way.

One way to discover an ideal model for your blogging website is to look at the websites that have successfully captured a blogging audience already to determine if you can appropriate some of their strategies to help realize your vision. Of ourse, you will also need to add a unique flair to your project in order to stand apart from your competition. Many people agree that the websites that do the best in today's market are the websites that have the most personality. The fiercely individual surfers who are bloggers are a demographic that responds especially strongly to personality, so consider how you can give your website a unique and attractive feeling by lending your own voice and sensibility to your website's design and content.

Once you have a great idea for your website, have pinpointed a special niche that you are well equipped to fill, and have infused the website with personality, the next step is figuring out how to get the word out to bloggers. In the long run, a great idea just is not enough to propel your blogging website to success.

You will need to draft a smart and realistic marketing plan in order to draw readers to your website. Once you hook a blogger, your great content will keep them coming back, but it is vital to get that first glance or your website will not have a chance to shine.

Video Blogging and Their Pros and Cons

Video Blogging and Their Pros and Cons

Videoblogging is the next big stage in the evolution of blogging for posting ideas, information and products over the World Wide Web. Text blogging has become very popular and pretty well everybody is doing it today. Now, videos have come along as a better way of expression. This communication method contains a lot of resources, but it is well worth it in todays fast paced world. If pictures say a thousand words, video blogging exceeds it tens times.

Video blogging has a lot of advantages over text blogging, and it is little wonder that this new technology is catching on all over the world. Video blogs very effectively grab the attention of web surfers, and people are much more likely to become excited about the dynamic content of a video blog than they are likely to find a written posting very thrilling. The more enthusiastic viewers are about a website, the quicker the word of mouth spreads, and the more traffic the website will get.

Of course, there are plenty of disadvantages to video blogging as well. Hosting a videoblog requires quite a bit of server space, which can make it difficult to get started. It takes more time to process and upload a video file than it does to dash off a quick bit of text, which means that running and updating a video blog can be quite a bit of work. In addition, web surfers sometimes grow frustrated with the slow loading times of the files on many video blogs.

Whether you opt for a video blog or not depends on what kind of subject matter you want to cover, and how much time you can devote to video blogging. Before you decide to pursue a video blog, consider if there is an easier way for you to get your message across.

How To Choose a Blogging Platform That Works For You

How To Choose a Blogging Platform That Works For You

How to choose a blogging platform to display your ideas and information is a very important decision that you are going to have to make as a blogger. The correct platform can make blogging a fun, and the wrong platform can make blogging hard work. Because the program that you will use to blog with is such a powerful part of your blogging experience, it is well worth putting in the time to find a platform that provides your ideal balance between a user friendly interface and a flexible framework that allows you to make your blog look and feel unique. Finding the right platform is not always easy, but with a little bit of contemplation and a little bit of research, you will be on your way to finding the perfect blogging platform.

Choosing a platform in terms of ease of use versus customization and deciding what your priorities are is very important. Most highly customizable blogging platforms, like moveable type, are a bit more difficult to use than very automated platforms like wordpress. If you are new to blogs and to internet technology, you might want to sacrifice the ability to create a custom background design or to integrate a unique font into your template in order to find a program that will be easy for you to use. Although, you will probably find the limitations of a user friendly platform to be frustrating, if you are a experienced web designer with knowledge of html, javascript, php or other web languages.

Every blogger has unique needs and different requirements, so that is why there is no such thing as a blogging platform that is objectively the best platform. The blogging movement is very much about individuality, so it makes plenty of sense that there would be many different platforms available that are designed to meet the needs of different kinds of individuals undertaking different kinds of projects. This diversity is a good thing, because it means that you will almost certainly be able to find a program that suits your level of technical aptitude.

The fact is that there are no two bloggers that need the same things from a blogging platform, and this will make your research into finding the right platform a little more difficult. Keep your priorities in mind and do your best to take into account the position where the reviewer is coming from when reading reviews on the many different platforms.

An example of a negative review would be written by a software designer who is very accomplished and who complains that a very popular platform is too limited to his needs, may tell you that this platform in question is ideal for beginners who want to start blogging. A perfect platform for everyone does not exist, so instead of looking for the "best or perfect" platform, look for the best platform for your specific needs.

Professional Blogging and The World Wide Web

Professional Blogging and The World Wide Web

Professional blogging is the next new concept and opening up ideas and a lot of potential for entrepreneurs who have drive, insight, and a basic understanding of today's innovative world wide web technology.

The ranks of professional bloggers are still quite small, and there are very few webmasters who make their living entirely off their blogs. However, every day there are more and more webmasters who have managed to turn their weblogs into a money making ventures that supplement their income. The number of professional bloggers is growing by leaps and bounds, but it is difficult to say whether this trend will continue.

Bloggers dream of entering the world of professional blogging. There are very few people who happily devote an hour or more each day to their blog without at least occasionally wishing that they could earn some kind of financial reward for all their work. Several models exist for making money with a blog, the most popular being to sell advertising space through Google's AdSense program or directly to a company that wishes to reach the demographic that your blog appeals to. However, there are very few people indeed who can make a comfortable living just by selling space on their blog sidebars.

Many web surfers who read weblogs are bloggers themselves, in part because of the fact that the web surfers who use blogging technology on a daily basis are most likely to be interested in what other writers are doing with the medium. This fact begins to explain why the people who succeed in the world of professional blogging are mostly people who have devoted themselves almost entirely to learning about, talking about, and writing about blogging. More than any other topic, professional bloggers turn their attention to the phenomenon of blogging itself. A lot of professional bloggers make the topic of blogging the stunningly self-reflexive ongoing focus of their blogs.

Professional blogging will become much more complicated in the near future. Today, professional bloggers who attract the largest audiences and make the most income are mostly concerned with investigating the blogging movement and with offering advice to amateur bloggers. However, as the kinds of people who regularly read blogs changes, and the demographics of bloggers expand and diversify as blogging software becomes more user friendly, it is very likely indeed that the world of professional blogging will begin to reflect these changes.

Indeed, it is very difficult to predict exactly what kinds of blogs will be reaping the greatest financial rewards five or ten years down the road. In the professional blogging world it is one of constant change and movement, which makes this type of blogging extremely exciting.

Free Blogging WebSites and How To Use Them

Free Blogging WebSites and How To Use Them

To get started in the blogosphere for first time bloggers, free blogging websites is a excellent way to begin blogging. Blogger and Eponym are two very popular blogging websites who allow first time bloggers to set up and host blogs without paying out any money at all.

This is a great opportunity that encourages people to start blogging, because the fact that one of these websites can provide you with all of the web tools you need to get your blogs up and running without spending any cash upfront means that you have nothing to lose and everthing to gain by starting a blog.

One of the main reasons why so many people who have never had any other kind of web presence before find themselves drawn to blogging because of the fact that it is so easy to find a way to blog for free.

When you signup at a free blogging website like blogger, you will find out that it is easier to get listed in search engines then it would have been if you started your own blog website from scratch. Blogspot is owned by google and it is a free blog hosting website which crawls its webpages very often looking for updates and new content, so if you have your website hosted by blogspot you are guaranteed to be listed on google's blog search engine. This easy access to search engines can take some of the work out of promoting your blog, and can help you gain a following with a minimum of marketing effort.

However, you may want to consider moving your website, if your blog attracts a large number readers. A lot of people feel that being hosted by a free blogging web site gives a blog a kind of amateur flavor that is fine for a new member of the blogosphere, but is not appropriate for a high-profile blog. Having your own domain can help you make your blog feel professional, and finding a company that will host your domain is not difficult or expensive. Once your blog takes off, you will probably be able to sell enough advertising space to be able to afford to buy a domain and pay for a hosting package, and still have money left over. However, it does not make sense in most cases to invest in these glossy luxuries before you have a sizable number of readers.

Before you start spending any money on blogging a free blogging website is a great way to build a following of readers. However, if and when your blog becomes popular and you are ready to take the next step and purchase your own domain, your readers will follow you to your new blog website. The fact that it is possible to use a free blog host like blogspost, blogger, or eponym as a kind of incubator for your blog is great news for bloggers all over the world.

Which Blogging Website to Join or Not

Which Blogging Website to Join or Not

Blogging is something that is very much in transition, as the new technologies appear every day and redefine what blogging is, what a blog is capable of doing, and what a blog should be doing. Although, for many years, blogging was defined as text based websites that kept records of days, similar to a day log on a ship. However, this started to change as the group of people who kept blogs became more diverse. The more bloggers began to explore the limits of the medium and of the technology that made it possible, the more the boundaries of what could be called a "blog" expanded.

Joining an established blogging website, especially for the blog novice has plenty of advantages, live journal and blogger are just two of them. Webites that host a lot of different blogs often have very useful tutorials about building and updating your blog, and you are likely to encounter a very user friendly software interface at an established blogging website. In addition, these websites provide a kind of instant community of fellow bloggers who can provide advice, insight, and feedback. These established websites often keep directories of their members, which can be great news for your traffic logs because it means that other bloggers on the website will find out about your pages.

However, there are also some negatives to linking up with large blogging websites. Websites like blogger use established templates and when you post with them, your blog will have the look and feel like everybody else's on the blogger website. The blogging movement is very much about the creation of distinctive websites and the development of individual voices, so it makes plenty of sense that many bloggers would shy away from the cookie cutter look and feel that these blogging websites often promote. The blogging community feels the visual look of a blog should match the originality of the article writing. Although, there are lots of bloggers who think that content is king for the blog and that is what makes it distinctive, not the visual aspect of the blog.

Using Your Blog for Fast SE Rankings

If you run a site and are looking to get it listed quickly on search engines, there really is no easier and quicker way than to also put a blog on the site. It is a known fact that search engine spiders from sites like Google and Altavista list new blogs much faster than they list new sites. However, it's not as simple as just creating a blog and letting it sit there. You have to also use tactics like pinging, linking and the use of keywords. We'll go over each so that you are able to effectively use your blog for a quick site listing. We'll also briefly go over how to host your own blog on your site.

So how do I host my own blog, anyway?

The easiest way to do this is to install and run a blogging software from another company on your web site's server. One such software that is popular is WordPress. It's fairly easy to install and works pretty good on your site. Other blogging software options include:

Apache Roller Blosxom Geeklog Textpattern LifeType

Whatever one you choose, be sure to follow the instructions provided by the company so that the installation goes smoothly.

Where should I put my blog on my site?

Most people who host their blog to help their site get listed quickly don't put the blog on the main page of the site, because the site isn't all about the blog. Instead they put it in its own folder at mysite.com/blog/. But you can really put your blog anywhere on your site, so it's your call.

What is pinging? It's a question that many ask, so don't feel silly if you don't know what pinging is. Pinging is essentially a tracking program installed on your blog that will notify the site which it is from whenever your blog is updated. Search engine spiders usually visit newly pinged sites most often, which is why pinging is such a crucial part of the equation to get your site listed quickly. Sites that are newly "pinged" will be visited by search engine spiders. A visit from the spider equals a listing on the search engine.

How do I get pinging on my blog? You'll have to register with a site that offers weblog pinging. The most popular pinging program around is weblogs.com. Other programs offered include Yahoo's Blo.gs, BlogRolling, and Technorati. Once you've decided on a pinging service, you'll have to follow the instructions to install it on your blog. When you've done that, your blog will start getting pinged and visited by search engine spiders.

What is linking? Linking is basically having another blog or site link to your blog. When search engine spiders visit that site and see a link to your site, they'll visit your site. Linking is effective both for sites with blogs and those without it.

How do I get linking? You get it by visiting sites/blogs that are relevant to what your site is about. Then you contact the owners of those sites/blogs, asking them to post a link to your site on their site. In return, you will probably have to link to their site on your site. That way, both of you are able to benefit from the linking.

Why is the use of keywords important to my blog? Spiders love to visit sites with a good amount of keywords. People who read your site won't mind the use of keywords if they are lightly spread throughout the content of your pages. The key to this is to make a list of keywords relevant to your blog posting and then to try to use those keywords throughout your content. It is important to make sure, however, not to overuse keywords. Spiders have been trained to ignore sites with excessive amounts of keywords, so if you use a whole lot of keywords in the hopes of getting spiders to visit your site, it's not going to do you any good. Generally speaking, using between 2-6 keywords per 200 word piece of content is a good ratio. It's pleasing to both readers and search engine spiders.

That's really all there is to it. Apply the above techniques to your blog and you will net your site a quick search engine listing.

There is no quicker way to get your site listed than to use a blog. So install a blog on your site today and you'll be listed sooner than you could have imagined!

Organize Your Personal Finances

I don't know about you, but I love the feeling of being organized. I mean really organized, from my house, to my car, to my closets, to my finances. I may be a bit compulsive, but for me less is more!

Here's a quick and easy guide to helping you get a jump start to organize your finances and save you money! The process is really easy and relatively painless.

Let's take it one easy step at a time. First go to your local office supply store and get a file cabinet with at least 2 drawers. If you want to spend less money, instead of the metal ones, you can buy the plastic ones that take either legal or letter sized files. I suggest you use letter sized for this task. Now you need the hanging file holders that will hold the actual folders. Ask the salesperson if you are unsure of what to get. You also nee to buy manila letter sized file folders (they come in a box with a bunch). Finally you will need to buy file label stickers.

And here we go... let's begin my simply labeling each file. You have to put the hanging file holders into the file cabinet. Then stick the file labels on each file as we go along naming each category.

Here are the general categories, of course you can add any as you see fit.

1. mortgages (first and second) 2. auto loans 3. student loans 4. telephone bills 5. cellular bills 6. gas bill 7. trash bill 8. water bill 9. electric bill 10. oil bill 11. cable bills 12. taxes 13. credit cards 14. business expense receipts 15. personal receipts 16. grocery coupons 17. car insurance 18. health insurance 19. life insurance 20. miscellaneous

Let's keep this simple. Pick a weekend or evening to do this. This is so liberating! You will feel refreshed when you see how much this clears out your desk and your mind.

Now input all the bill statements into the proper folders. You will be amazed at how this will help you each month.

Quick Tip: Did you know that you can call all your credit cards each month and request a lower interest rate? Many times they will say "sure"! It's easier to keep on top of these now because they are all in the same folder. Also to help with this, make a list of all your credit cards, with the interest rates and balances, and put them in order of most important to pay off. As you get extra money, you know to pay off the highest interest rate one first! It feels great to cross off the top credit card as you pay it down to zero!

**Bottom line: more organized= happier home= more fruitful finances!

A Sneek Preview Into The World Of Blogging

The key to making money through affiliate programs or other forms of advertising is traffic, which is simply the sheer number of visitors who arrive at your blog daily. In terms of affiliate marketing and SEO, the more visitors your website has, better are the chances or rather prospects of your products and services to be recomended from your website. Many first time bloggers automatically assume that once their blog is setup and they put a few posts on it, they will get some hits and regular readers. This is quite untrue. You won't get any traffic if no one knows about your website. There are many different ways to market your blog and gain more visitors which will eventually allow you to make money through blog-based affiliate marketing. The use of blog traffic exchanges is one method you should consider. In this particular article I intend to showcase methods for proper blog usability which will automatically ensure sucess for the reason of blogging.

BLOG USABILITY The first priority your blog has to have is presentation. Most web users are instantly turned off by poor presentation or common designs that seems to be tacky at the best. It is a known fact that, no person would prefer staying logged on to a website if the navigation is annoying. The aim is to have a unique blog, different than all the other weblogs on the net.It shouldn't take a reader more than a click, if any, to find your email address or a contact form. This makes the reader feel like someone who actually runs and cares about the website. An about page(regarding author details) is also a great asset to have on a personal site or blog. The more a reader knows about you, the more they trust your content.

CONTENT

Your blog's usability goes hand in hand with its content. You can specialize in an unusual subject as long as you have an idea of how many people might be interested in that subject. If you do well with your niche subject matter, you could get some crazy traffic for being the only decent blog online with that type of content. On the other hand you could have widely used content, such as some aspect of technology, but add your own twist with your opinion or comparing/contrasting from other tech analysts. People won't go to ur site to read other people's edition ,rather they will be on the lookout for new takes.Re blogging is a very bad thing. The one thing to kill your traffic is having identical content to another several hundred blogs.Finding out what your content should be is a key element of your blog's identity and the type of image your blog will ultimately emit.More over re blogging or using other people's content will only allow google to announce your website as a PLR (plagiarized) website.

Following are some questions along with the answers that are bound to creep into the minds of many amateur bloggers.

q1)How do Blog Traffic Exchanges Work? ans)Blog Traffic Exchanges are simply websites which operate on a reciprocal viewing ratio, whereby you'll manually surf and visit various blogs in the network, in return for other users to visit your blog. For example, by logging into a blog traffic exchange and visiting one blog in their network, I would earn one credit which means that I'll get one visit in return from another blogger who is using the same traffic network. This is the most basic principle of all blog traffic exchanges, although some exchange networks will allow you to buy credits which will translate to visitor traffic from other users.

q2)What are the requirements to use a Blog Traffic Exchange? ans)The most basic prerequisite is that you will need to own a blog. Registration for these blog traffic exchanges are usually free and all you'll need to do is to submit your blog and start surfing to accumulate traffic credits, which will ensure that other users surf and visit your blog as well.

q3)What are some types of Blog traffic exchanges? ans) 1)Blog Explosion 2)BlogMad 3)Blog Soldiers 4)Blog Advance 5)Blog Catalouge 6)Blog Flux.

q4)what are the advantages and disadvantages of blogging? ans)Advantages- * Free exposure for new blogs. New blogs usually have very little referral or search traffic and the focus is on getting people to know your blog actually exists. Blog Traffic exchanges can perform this function and may even help to increase your initial reader base before organic traffic from search engines starts to kick in.* Building long-term referral traffic. Traffic exchange visitors are all bloggers and are the people you want to attract when you are trying to build a much bigger readership. The more bloggers you have reading your blog, the more potential for incoming links and future referral traffic.

Disadvantages-Some bloggers have suggested that advertising networks like Adsense do not allow the use of traffic exchanges, because they generate artificial traffic and ad impressions.Blog traffic exchanges are similar to StumbleUpon in that you'll never really know what to expect. For some exchanges like Blog Explosion, you can choose to surf blogs only in a specific field but I'm not sure how many users actually use this function. The traffic that you are trying to monetize is actually limited only to the users of each Traffic Exchange. This means that after consistently using each exchange for a while, the quality of the traffic as it relates to affiliate programs might decrease.

Now coming to the main point of blog success. How does one do proper blog promotion. If your blog is an acclaimed hit you don't have to look back.Blogger itself has an array of settings, many of which work to your advantage in this endeavor. This first grouping is quite simple and just requires that you sign in to your Blogger account and flip a few switches.Weblogs.com is a blog update notification service that many individuals and services use to track blog changes. When your setting is activated, Blogger will notify weblogs.com that you have updated your blog. That means your blog will be included in various "recently updated" lists on the web as well as other blog-related services.Traffic-grabbing techniques is a little more persnickety and not as readily activated. The basic gist of this section of methods is "If you build it well they will come." You'll need to incorporate the other aspects of self-promotion, but it's true that writing a great blog goes a long way towards repeat visitors and word of blog.Write quality content and do it well.If your "style" is bad writing, worse grammar, no punctuation, and an ugly design, that might be okay for a niche crowd. But the idea here is to get a big crowd so fix yourself up a bit, pull it together man, have some respect for your readers, and discover a style that shines brightly through good blogging. The other factors you need to keep in mind while blogging on the net are: 1)Publish regular updates 2)Think of your audience.3)Keep search engines in mind 4)Keep your posts and paragraphs short. Be unique and be sure that your data is content relative.Another samll topic that creeps up in my mind now is preference.Well just like other bloggers who blog through common and basic accounts I to have a preffered account.

TECHNORATI

Technorati is one of the best traffic providers for bloggers. It makes your blog much easier to find when people search by technorati tags. Technorati is also a large blog ranking engine. Based on the number of links to your blog from various websites, your blog is given a rank. The higher your rank the easier your blog is to find when people search for things. A higher rank gives your blog greater credibility in technorati. If you don't already have a technorati ACCOUNT get one fast.

So now then I have completed all points best to my knowledge as far as this topic is concerned. If there are any short comings in terms of content or tags and terms, please don't hesitate to leave a comment. After all suggestions and advice will only make me provide readers with better posts.

Dad Daad aiming century

How many kids do you want to have? 1... 2 or 5 or 10? Not 100 I guess! But this dad who became father of 78 children about a month back wants to have 100 children by the end of 2015.

In US, it was a big news when a couple managed to have 17 children. But this guy married 15 brides to produce 78 children. I don't know if he remembers names and birthdates of all his wives, let alone the children. Poor guy, he has to divorce previous wives to make way for new ones in order to stay within the legal limit of four. Now he has 3 wives with him and he is looking for a new wife to make it four.

UAE national Daad Mohammed Murad Abdul Rahman, 60, is one-legged as he lost a leg in a road accident. His youngest child, Tariq, is about a month old and his oldest son, Ayoob, is 36. Two out of his current three wives are pregnent now and he is expecting two more addition in his family within a month.

One more interesting thing, his wives are multinational, who hail from UAE, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran and Oman. I can't imagine how he can manage with such a diversity!

Dad daad

They (his wives) live in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Daad Mohammed, whose home is in Al Bustan, Ajman, spends time with each of them and has a family gettogether every Friday.

He is head of possibly the largest single UAE dynasty with 127 members, including 49 grandchildren, and has 15 houses. Two of his wives have died. Now he is going to have the same type of artificial limb - known as the Jaipur foot - that Indian dancer Sudha Chandran uses.

"After Ramadan, I will go to Jaipur to get an artificial leg and marry a beautiful Rajasthani girl," he told Emirates Today. "I have had seven Indian brides.

Daad daddy looking forward to 100 kids"My life is dedicated to my children. I gave birth to them, feed and educate them properly and take care of their needs. Once they grow I help them find a job, arrange their marriage and build new houses for them," says Daad, his four years old son Badar sitting on his lap. "My eldest son, Ayoob Daad is in Abu Dhabi working for the air force. All the young children are going to school. Every day they take their pocket money," he added. "A good father treats all his children equally," he added. "Whenever they get leave, they come and talk to me. Otherwise we talk over the phone," he added. There are fourteen houses for the Daad family and the father goes rotating to each house. "You become a bad father when you don't meet the children's requirements. Even if I have 70 children, I take care of their requirements without any difference," he says. "Every hour the small kids need pocket money. So I keep lot of changes in my pocket," Daad said showing the bulk Dhs.5 and Dhs.10 notes from his pocket.

"Occasionally I take them to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Ajman for shopping and buy new clothes. I cannot take out everyone for outing together because it may require two buses to carry all the 68 children (That was some time back when he had only 68 children). A normal bus has only 55 seats," he says, with a naughty smile. "Whenever possible we celebrate each child's birthday. Whoever is possible comes and attends. We cut special goats to celebrate birthdays," he added. "Baaba (father) is good. He never beats us. I help him to walk and get his stretcher. He has only one leg and needs help," says Sultan, one of the young sons of Daad. His mother left for India when Sultan was just four months old and it has been the father and elder brothers who took care of the four month old son. Sultan who has never enjoyed a mother's love says his father's love is enough for him. "I don't know about my mother, but I love my father. He too loves me and we all respect him," says Sultan. "We are all given mobile phones too and the bill is footed by Babaaji," he added. "Only two of my sons smoke. When I learned that they smoke, a habit developed from peer groups in school, I told them not to worry about smoking in front of me. If they want to smoke there is no problem," he said. "Only one son has married twice," he adds.

Statistics:

* wives - 15 * Children - 78 (soon to be eighty) * Grandchildren - 49 * Houses - 15 Sources: http://www.keralamonitor.com/daadday.htm http://www.emiratestodayonline.com/ArticleText.aspx?article=20_08_2007_001_009

Work from Home

Question, how many average, self employed, people are willing to take the money they need for feeding their kids to work from home . With the rise of daycare and the need to work more hours to pay for it; how do single mom and dads accomplish this and not be a stranger to their kid? With the seperation rate in this country how many children really know and get to see their parent? Like me, you are probably a mom or dad that needs to be home with their kids. You can't get a job that works with your hours. I am writing this blog in hopes that someone will benifit from my experiences.

It is probably everyones dream to be able to sit in your underwear and see that your bank is $1000 richer while you slept. Dont get me mad, there are people that actually do that. I dont. And I am sure you are not that person either. Is one person found a way for everyone to do that and not spend a dime, they would be wealthier than Micheal Jordan within a week. All it would take is for someone to use the energy and talent they spend on scamming people to do the right thing. Where does the word telecommute come from? Was this word made up to differentiate between the good schemes and the scams? I would like to think that is true. Maybe it is just a keyword some one made up. Anyways whether you want to telemarket or work from home the answer is transparent, you have your work snipped out for you.

Trying to find a "worry-free" work from home opportunity is like the quest for a unicorn. We would all like to believe, and some of us do, that there is the perfect mixture of pesos and time, mixed with a hand full of not having to pay anything to do it. On that hand, thanks for visiting my work from home site.

Tips on Increasing Traffic to Your Blog

Blog owners want to know how to increase traffic. Increasing traffic is actually easier than it seems--provided you know how. In this newsletter, we will go over 7 specific methods of increasing traffic. These are guaranteed methods to draw more visitors to your blog.

Tip #1: Sign up for pinging services It seems pretty obvious, but most bloggers, even those who are more experienced, don't sign up for pinging services. If you're new to blogging and don't know what pinging means, pinging basically means that when your blog is updated, a "ping" is sent out by the service to let pinging sites know that your blog has been updated. People who are visiting sites with pinging services will then see your blog flash across the side of the screen as "newly updated". Pinging services include Yahoo's blogs, weblogs.com, Google Blog search, and ZingFast.

Tip #2: Sign up for Technorati If you go to technorati.com, you'll see an option on the left side of the screen to "Claim Your Blog". Doing so allows you to get updated link counts, add your photo or branding to Technorati, and see your Technorati link. Having your blog claimed on Technorati helps to increase traffic because the millions of people who go to that site will have a chance to see your blog on there.

Tip #3: Sign up for FeedBurner, a RSS service What FeedBurner basically does for your blog is it helps you to promote your blog's content, build your audience and measure your audience. In other words, it helps you increase your blog's traffic.

Tip #4: Bookmark your blogs at places like del.icio.us You can set up an account and profile at del.icio.us. Then, using that, you can add links to your blog along with excerpts from your blog. Anytime someone visits your profile on del.icio.us, they will see a link to your blog and excerpts. There are other social bookmarking sites that you can use in much the same way. The bottom line is, using these social bookmarking sites can help you increase traffic.

Tip #5: Post comments at other blogs No, this doesn't mean you should go and spam other blogs with comments that are only there to promote a site. It means that you should visit similar blogs to your own, post legitimate comments and then sign your name(along with a link to your blog). This way, people know you aren't there just to promote your site--you're there to post a good piece of feedback and also say where you're from.

Tip #6: Ask owners of other blogs to post a link to yours Find other blogs that are similar to yours. If they seem to be decently popular(that is, they have a good amount of comments for each post), you can try to contact the owner of the blog to add a link to your blog if they have a links section. To make them really want to do this, you can offer to link back to their blog on your blog. People do this reciprocal blog linking all the time and it does help to increase traffic.

Tip #7: Use keywords in your blog Like regular web pages, having a good keyword density on a blog is a terrific way of getting search engine spiders to notice your page. (FYI: Search engine spiders are programs from search engines that browse sites and report back their findings to the search engine database, which then lists that site. The more keywords on your site, the more likely it is for a search engine spider to pay a visit)

If your average blog posting is around 200 words, try to use 2-6 keywords per blog post. 2-6 keywords in a blog posting of 200 words is a keyword density of between 1 and 3 percent, a respectable number. Remember that you don't want to use too many keywords, as that will make your blog look bad. Also be sure that the keywords used are relevant to your blog. Before even making a blog posting, decide what the post will be about and then select a keyword or two to use in your post. Then do it. It's a surefire way of getting more traffic to your site!

Signing up with a service like Technorati is a quick, painless way of increasing traffic to your blog. So sign up today!

Using Private Label Rights the RIGHT way for Blogging

Private Label Rights are a powerful tool or asset to use, especially when blogging. There are times where I go blank and do not know what to write. When this happens I open up my PLR folder and see what I can write about. The only difference is I use PLR in a different way than others.

A lot of authors will just post the PLR article with minor or no adjustments. This isn't good because its not unique and it is probably all over the internet. If it is all over the internet, then you site will not be indexed right and not be ranked properly within SERP.

Let us get an introduction to what PLR (Private Label Rights) are and how they are beneficial.

PLR are articles, software, ebooks etc that you can say is your own, even though you did not make it or is the original author of the product. You can even make any changes that you want, put your own name on it, sell it for profit or sell basic or master resell rights to the product. It is basically yours to do with as you please but you didn't have to spend hours creating it.

The benefits of it are you do not have to do anything except edit and call it your own. The problem is users are just copying and pasting the PLR products, especially articles onto their blog or site. I find that this downgrades your brand and your blog, showing that there is no interest in creating a more unique article or post.

Here is a small list of what you can do with PLRs:

1. it can be edited
2. Add your name as the author
3. Break the content down or extract content
4. use it on your site or blog
5. sold to your readers
6. you can add resale rights to it (master, royalty, etc)

I use PLR articles sometimes it is rare that I will use it, but at times of word loss or no ideas I turn to the powerful PLR articles that I have. When I started my new blog I wrote a post about content creation and use PLRs. PLRs helped me when I started my second blog, I have content on there which people wanted to read. But, I did not use the FULL PLR; instead I use parts of it and put my own thinking to it.

Private Label Right Articles are only beneficial if you add your own thought and thinking process to it. Do not use the WHOLE PLR and post it because it is just a repeat of what thousands of other sites are doing out there. It's not unique and Google SERPs hate it.

How to Use PLR Articles for Blogging

While there are some people out there that use PLRs for creating reports and ebooks, I tend to use PLRs for blogging. I only use PLR articles when I do not have anything to write. Below is what I tend to do when I do not have anything or can't think of what to write, I turn to my PLRs.

If you are blogging, use only a couple sentences or a max of 2 paragraphs and work around it. To get me to start writing, I will read the whole article and then either use the introduction paragraph so I can run with the topic or use some of the middle paragraphs and add to my own writing to it. I will not use the whole article and post it to the public, its a guarantee that you will find that whole article on another website or even several thousand website. You do not want to be part of that.

Why do this? Well because you do not want someone else's style ruining your blog. You also do not want to just be done posting within 2 minutes, add you own unique style to it, maybe even add more to the PLR.

Example: You can be a NEW blogger and you decide to use a PLR article and just post it, then you started to write your own. The PLR article might have been written with expertise while your writing style is just mediocre. It ruins your blog, since readers may think you are a writing expert when in reality you are not. (this is just an example)

But, you need to learn how to use PLRs and take advantage of them. I take advantage of them by simple working around it as I have stated. I write in my own words around the topic with maybe a direct source from the body or introduction. No one can blame me that I have used their content because it's my content, its a PLR!

Working around the PLR topic benefits you since you are creating a unique writing style around a topic you may not know but inputting your own thoughts of what maybe right or wrong. Writing around a PLR can even get you ranked higher within the SERPs, since its content search engines have seen but is altered.

I believe when writing you need to just have your own style. Your own style describes you as it's your personality, your attitude, your views. You blog because you want to share your views about a specific topic or specific article you have read etc. With PLR articles, you can have a good topic with your own views.

Taking parts of sentences and turning it into a paragraph or taking paragraphs and creating whole articles! Private Label Rights is very powerful when you can take advantage of it and use it properly. Just posting the PLR in your blog just degrade it in my opinion. If you have nothing to write about grab some private label articles and extract some content and write around that topic.

By the way this post has no PLR content in it.
